Hello. I have just joined the forum as part of investigating teacher training materials. After many years in FE, I became a teacher mentor but unfortunately fell foul of organisational inaptitude. Google me if you want the story! However, I am glad to say I'm now working for a training company managing quality and ITT which is going from strength to strength despite the Trian to Gain fiasco.

Its very gratifying to learn that committed FE professionals don't just fade away but find suitible or better environments to continue practicing their committment to education. You tend to become very insular in a FE college, and I now feel freed and empowered and in the light of my previous experience actualy of some use both to my employer and students. sorry, getting a bit carried away there! I'm not the only very experienced FE lecturer to have been spat out by a struggling sector.

Any way, hi and if anyone wants advise or just to chew the fat then I'm here!
