Post subject: PGCE (PCET) Interview  PostPosted: Feb 05, 2010 - 04:52 PM

Hi

I've got through to the interview stage for the PGCE (PCET) on the 24th February. I am looking for some advice and guidance regarding the brief. I have been asked to devise a ten minute presentation on the following:

'What are the 3 key factors to consider when planning a session for a group of learners studying in a Post-16 environment'.

I am looking for some suggestions, so that I can narrow down any potential research avenues. At the moment, I can't see the wood for the trees! I am at a loss as to what factors I should focus on. Should I focus on broad factors like aims/objectives/outcomes? Or perhaps look at structure, communication and barriers to learning?

Although I have observational experience in FE colleges, and over 2 years experience as a volunteer mentor - I am unfamiliar with the jargon and technical terms that are related to this field. I have several textbooks at my disposal - but as previously mentioned, I feel somewhat overwhelmed.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
