Setting a profile image adds a touch of class to your posts and community interactions. Setting one up is a straight forward procedure, outlined below:
First find yourself a suitable image to use. images are best square, and small, and are limited to no more than 10KB in actual size, so if you are starting with a photo, use a graphics program such as MS Paint, or an online free Graphics tool to shrink the photo down to a suitable size for use as an avatar. Ideally your avatar should not exceed 200x200 pixels in size.
Here is a site that can do this for you: http://www.shrinkpictures.com/create-avatar/
Perhaps you prefer to keep a level of anonymity, and would rather your avatar look like a cartoon of you? If so, don't worry, the Internet can provide that and here are a few sites where you can waste sometime making the perfect online representation of yourself:

Once you have an avatar image ready to use, start the upload process by clicking on the edit my profile link in the top left of your browser:

This will take you into the "Dashboard" view of the site, where you are able to populate your personal details, change your password, and of course set your profile image. To change your profile image browse down the page until you see the "Avatar Upload" section:

From here you can browse your local computer to find a suitable profile image to set as your "PCET Network Avatar". Once its set, just hit the "Update Profile" button to make it stick!
After its updated, to get back to the main site, click on the "PCET Network" title at the top of the page, and you will be taken back to familiar territory.
The site uses a simple 1 to 10 rating system for the majority of its content.
This system lets you easily and anonymously give feedback on the content and help others who use the site know what is good, from what is great!
Under the Stars are the "thumbs". Use these to quickly express your opinion on the specific content.
The site is built around the community and feedback, so don't be shy!
In the spirit of communications, PCET has launched a system that allows you to directly communicate with members using a private messaging system built into the site. Using this system is very easy, and does not expose your personal details such as email address, to the person you are communicating with. To get started select the "Community Contact" button from the menu bar on the site:
The messaging system is much like a normal email program, so should be familiar and easy to get to grips with, however, one key point f note is that to send a message you need to first click in the "Search User..." box and then start typing the name of the recipient. The recipients name will automatically complete as you type, so once you see who your looking for, click it from the list:
Once you click the name you want it will be added to your list of recipients, and you can either move onto the message itself, or add a few more names to the list!
Once you are happy with the message, hit the "Send Message" button to reach out and meet your peers.
Preferences:
There are a few basic preferences that you can change in the system. These can be accessed by clicking the "preferences" link at the bottom of the page, just under the blue background area of the messaging system:
Here you can set your notification preference, as well as your level of accessibility to others.
