Hello. I'm Adam Wright and I'm new to the site.
I am currently studying the final year of my degree in Web Technology (area: computing) and am interested in teaching within F.E. colleges.
Saying my degree award is successful, I want to take on a teaching qualification. This is where I am struggling. I don't want to work in a school but the primary and secondary PGCE awards you with Qualified Teacher Status. I can do the PGCE for post-16 education (PGCE - FE or the PCET) but will be limited to colleges and wont be award Qualified Teacher Status.
I would like to teach computing and ICT at college with the possibility of teaching some units in a DipHE (Diploma of Higher Education). DipHE and foundation degrees at colleges are becoming rather common, with students attending a main University for the final year.
I am confident in office software use, F.E. level networks and communication, website development, F.E. level ICT business and BIS, systems analysis, database management systems and multimedia: image and video editing. I want to put my knowledge to good use.
Regards, Adam Wright |
